When you burn a candle or spray a room fragrance, you’re releasing more than just a scent — you’re filling the air your family breathes. That’s why at The Homestead Co., we only use clean, non-toxic fragrance oils that are certified free from carcinogens, reproductive toxins, and harmful chemicals. Every candle and room spray is hand-poured in small batches in Russia, Ohio, using ingredients we trust in our own homes. Our goal is simple: beautiful scents, a cozy home, and products that are safer for real families, kids, and pets.
If you’ve ever noticed headaches, sinus irritation, or a “chemical” smell from big-box candles or air fresheners, clean fragrance oils make a huge difference. Many traditional candles release harsh compounds into the air — especially in the winter when windows stay shut and candles burn daily. Clean oils are designed to avoid harmful ingredients while still giving you a warm, strong, balanced scent. That means you can enjoy cozy fragrance without irritation, heavy perfume notes, or chemical residue in the air. They’re especially helpful for homes with children and pets, who breathe closer to the floor where fragrance particles settle the most.
Every product we make — candles, room sprays, and hand soaps — is poured with clean fragrance oils, tallow and beeswax, wood wicks, and safe, simple materials. There are no dyes, no toxic additives, and no overpowering artificial scents. Just clean-burning, long-lasting fragrance made for sensitive noses and family living. Many customers tell us they can finally enjoy candles again without headaches, which is exactly why we pour them this way.
If you’re searching for clean candles, non-toxic home fragrance, or safer alternatives to essential-oil marketed candles, our Christmas collection is the perfect place to start. Our scents — Homestead Pine, Cup of Cheer, Baked Blessings, and Light of the Manger — are poured with grass-fed tallow and beeswax and scented with clean fragrance oils you can feel good about burning. You can order online, choose local pickup in Russia, Ohio, or shop with us at holiday markets across Ohio.
